Risen Savior Triptych
These are studies for a triptych designed for Risen Savior Lutheran Church, Pooler, GA. To aid with planning, I built a 1/20 scale model of the chancel. The theme of the triptych is 1 Corinthians 15:21-22: "For since by man came death, by man also came the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive." After months of deliberation and planning, the altarpiece was eventually not approved. However, the project contributed to my Master's Thesis, "Resurrecting Liturgical Art," which can be downloaded on the About page. You can read more about the triptych and the design process at my blog.
Transfiguration Altarpiece
This triptych, and the acompanying altar adornments, were designed and created for the 2014 WELS Conference for Worship, Music, and the Arts in Kenosha, Wisconsin. It was used to celebrate the Feast of Transfiguration. The triptych was painted in oil on muslin, and a poplar cabinet housed 1,200 LED lights that illuminated it from within.
